Marie wears Hetty Midnight

"When we discussed why we would want a wedding after so many years of togetherness when we got engaged back in 2018, we kept coming back to the idea of celebrating the happy times, making new memories to sustain our tribe during hard times, and using our love language of quality time as a vessel. We incorporated a “guest list bingo card” into the weekend for people to find out fun facts about other guests, and decorated the reception with photos of our guests own weddings and, if single, our favorite memories with that person. We loved the idea of a destination wedding where people had to carve time out to be present. Little did we know how important and intentional that would be post pandemic. We knew the mountains would be the setting as they have been for our entire relationship. We found a casual vibe and flexible options to accommodate everyone at the 320 Guest Ranch in Big Sky, Montana. Our wedding in July of 2022 was the first time we had gathered as a large group since 2020, and bringing our families and friends together for 3 days felt incredibly special. The whole weekend with everyone on site was magical, down to the giant thunderstorm that rolled in, started to spit rain on us during the processional, and then blew out for clear skies as we said our vows. We wanted a relaxed casual community vibe, and with that came lounge set ups, converting our VW adventure van into a kids activity fort, and shoes that would allow me, and flip flop kind of gal, comfort on uneven meadow surface as a nervously walked out and gleefully danced back leading a procession of family and friends to Jon Batiste’s “I need you,” a dance floor, and a long gravel road walk as we did a “walking cocktail hour” with app stations and beer burros to get from ceremony to reception site. Through it all my shoes were comfortable and trip proof, pretty as my signature blue peeped from below my dress, and fun to show off! I bought the matching clutch, which didn’t make it into pictures, and paired them all with a cashmere shawl for the evening chill. Perfection."

Marie's wedding took place at a ranch in Montana surrounded by breathtaking, natural scenery.
